Getting ready for your Mealworm arrival!
You have ordered! Your meal worms are on the way. This is wonderful and the rest of the process should be just as easy because mealworms are super easy to care for!
How do you get ready?
Container: Your bulk order of mealworms can be kept in a large plastic container. You'll want to make sure you use the one we ship with or you put air holes in the top of your homemade one.
Bedding: You should cover the mealworms with a 1-2" layer of wheat middling, oat meal, or Your Bug Barn's mealworm bedding to provide bedding and a food source.
Moisture:. Don't water them, the moisture can come from small pieces of cut fruit or potato, (it should be organic since the mealworms are coming in organic material).
Should you Refrigerate?:. Mealworms can go in the refrigerator until ready for use, Super worms should not be refrigerated. Set the temp at 45 degrees F until ready for use.
When you are ready to use them, remove the desired amount and leave at room temperature until they become active, roughly 24 hours before feeding to your animal.
